Where It All Began
Agua Fresca started as more than a farm: it is home. For four generations, our family has lived in Jinotega, Nicaragua, surrounded by coffee farming. This wasn’t something we picked up along the way; it was simply life. Planting, harvesting, caring for the land, and relying on the fresh streams and waterfalls that give Agua Fresca its name “fresh water” was all we knew.

A Coffee City: The Big Easy
It wasn’t until about 20 years ago that we began bringing our coffee to New Orleans, LA and that step changed everything for us. From its port history to its culture, New Orleans has always been a coffee city. It was the perfect place to share our story for the first time.
Once we started sharing not just our coffee but also our story, we realized how valuable the farm-to-cup experience truly is and how rare it can be for farmers to sell directly to the people drinking their coffee.

What’s Ahead
Ever since, we’ve never looked back. From education to storytelling to simply sharing a cup with the people we love, we’ve seen how coffee can connect people in ways that go far beyond the drink itself.
That’s why we’re here now. This blog is a place to share more of that journey with you. Updates from the farm, insights into specialty coffee, brewing tips, and a closer look at what makes Agua Fresca what it is.
From our family’s home in Nicaragua to your cup, we are forever grateful to be on this journey and to share it with you. Cheers to what’s ahead!
